About the position

This position is responsible for managing tens of highly available database clusters across geographically different data centers. The primary focus is to ensure that the availability, scalability, and uptime requirements of database services are clearly understood and addressed. The role involves evaluating the progress and results of development efforts while preserving the integrity and design of the databases to support mission-critical databases necessary for business operations. Under minimal supervision, the individual will produce deliverables in alignment with the overall Transformation program, demonstrating mastery skills in the area of sub-specialization. The role offers the opportunity to provide proactive knowledge and act as an escalation point for Engineering, Service Support, and Service Delivery. Responsibilities include resolving issues and incidents within SLA, proactively working with vendors and providers on identified product issues, and independently implementing approved medium and large-scale projects that align with service and departmental goals. The individual will lead, coordinate, and manage all aspects of database implementation, oversee the direction, development, and implementation of database software solutions, and develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Reporting on findings and making recommendations for improvement is also a key aspect of the role. Additionally, the position requires overseeing new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades, carrying off-hours escalation as part of a pager-rotation shift or an emergency with a 10-minute response time, and training new hires and NOC engineers on technology implementation to ensure quick onboarding of new hires.
