About the position

The Principal Design, Partnership Activation role at NBCUniversal focuses on enhancing the user experience (UX) for consumers engaging with the company's Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio. This position is responsible for leading design initiatives that improve subscription journeys, including sign-ups, purchases, and cancellations, while collaborating with various internal and external partners. The role emphasizes mentorship, strategic vision, and the delivery of high-quality, consumer-centric digital products.

Responsibilities

  • Present vision, strategy, and data-informed design solutions to all audiences.
  • Formulate and communicate ideas and plans to peers, leadership, and engineering contributors.
  • Balance inputs from business, design, research, technology, and external partners.
  • Create a network of cross-functional partners and build rapport and trust.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and other internal partners to define the strategy & experience of consumer-facing products.
  • Deliver end-to-end UX for high-value, consumer-centric digital products.
  • Translate requirements to flows that leverage existing flows or establish new ones.
  • Provide creative thought leadership and drive UX design solutions by combining industry best practices with personal expertise.
  • Lead design thinking exercises for cross-functional ideation and concept exploration.
  • Grow talent by providing creative direction and mentorship to designers.
  • Maintain a critical eye and obsessive attention to detail.

Requirements

  • 7+ years industry experience in UX/Product Design.
  • A degree in design, computer science, or human factors.
  • Experience in service design, including service blueprints and multi-touchpoint user journeys.
  • Experience in commerce UX, particularly with rewards or loyalty programs.
  • An online portfolio showcasing shipped and in-market products, demonstrating end-to-end design methodology.
  • Advanced expertise with design tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, and Figma.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing for web, mobile, and other application platforms.
