About the position

The Principal DevSecOps Engineer will support a program focused on addressing security threats to public safety and border protection. This role involves building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure, leveraging expertise in continuous integration, delivery, deployment (CI/CD), cloud technologies, container orchestration, and security. The position requires a TS/SCI clearance and is based onsite in Fort Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and implementation of all backlog tasks (e.g., POA&M items, upgrades, features, bug fixes).
• Review all changes to the Volta baseline and ensure successful deployment in all environments.
• Verify security controls and update the Body of Evidence (BOE) with each release.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree PLUS 5 years of experience as an engineering lead OR, without a degree, at least 10 years of experience as an engineering lead.
• 5+ years of experience applying agile methodologies to the system development life cycle.
• 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code / Configuration-as-Code.
• 5+ years of experience with Commercial Cloud Services.
• 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes.
• 3+ years of experience with Terraform.
• 3+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services for the DoD/IC (e.g. C2S).
• 2+ years of experience with GitOps and with the Platform One Big Bang service.
• 1+ years of experience with the assessment and accreditation of a national security system (NSS).

Nice-to-haves

• Interest or experience with DevSecOps.
• Experience with Linux/Windows in cloud environments.
