About the position

The Principal DevSecOps Engineer at SAIC is responsible for designing, deploying, operating, and maintaining secure Cloud products and services. This role focuses on developing continuous build/integration infrastructure, automating CI/CD processes, and collaborating with development and security teams to enhance product delivery and operational reliability. The position is fully remote and requires a self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, operate, and maintain secure Cloud products and services within a Cloud-based environment.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and ongoing development of continuous build/integration infrastructure.
  • Provide Source Control Management/Documentation and create/maintain fully automated CI build processes for multiple environments; write, build, and deploy scripts.
  • Support CI/CD tools integration, operations, change management, and maintenance.
  • Support full automation of CI/testing.
  • Support policies, standards, guidelines, governance, and related guidance for both CI/CD operations and developer work.
  • Enable successful release management by moving code from Development and Testing environments to Staging and Production.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, production support, and information security to automate and support infrastructure and tooling in cloud-based platforms.
  • Provide guidance and apply agile and DevOps/DevSecOps practices to streamline product delivery and reliable operations.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to automate and save time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more of experience, or Master's degree and four (4) years or more of experience; will consider additional 4 years experience with a HS diploma in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • US citizen required and candidates must have an active Public Trust clearance before starting.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Strong understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
  • Proven ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under general direction, independently determining and developing approaches to solutions.
  • Experience in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Track record of contributing to the completion of specific programs and projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Familiarity with Agile collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, or MS Azure.
  • Knowledge of Cloud - Platform One and Cross Domain Solutions.
  • Experience with Multi-Level Security Networks (MLS / MILS).
  • Containerization experience with Docker or Red Hat Podman.
  • Container management experience with Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Experience with security automation tools such as SAST and DAST.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Bicep, Ansible, and/or Terraform.
