About the position

The Principal Digital Analytics Engineer at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits is a full-stack analyst responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights and tools that address business challenges. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create data-driven solutions, enhance self-service capabilities, and develop predictive services. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to effectively deliver impactful data products within a dynamic enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate raw data into powerful tools, services, and insights for business challenges.
• Design, build, and deliver datasets that unlock insightful information for teams.
• Develop and deploy data observability automation for data products.
• Aggregate and enrich datasets by developing impactful metrics and predictive features.
• Build and deploy data pipelines using SQL, Spark, and Python.
• Design and deploy various data structures for different use cases.
• Work with data APIs to extract and utilize data effectively.
• Stand up streaming data systems and develop real-time alerts and monitors.
• Co-design new platform capabilities and workflows with engineering teams.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers on predictive modeling challenges.
• Leverage AI/automation tools to enhance data and analytics delivery.

Requirements

• 9+ years building data pipelines using SQL, Spark, Python.
• 9+ years of hands-on experience in a modern cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• 9+ years leveraging statistical or algorithmic modeling methods.
• Experience with modern data lakehouse software like Databricks or Snowflake.
• Ability to break down complex tasks and deliver solutions with agility.
• Experience designing and deploying data products in an analytics cloud platform.
• Experience in a transformation environment with competing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise in advanced data analytics in marketing, digital advertising, e-commerce, mobile apps, supply chain, sales, logistics, or finance.
• Superb interpersonal skills for building relationships in a distributed working model.
