About the position

The Principal, Digital Platform Engineering role at Johnson & Johnson is a high-impact position focused on defining and implementing the integrated digital strategy for the company's digital platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive innovation and ensure high-quality outputs across various digital products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as full-stack engineering lead across the digital MarTech portfolio of products and microservices.
  • Implement a loosely-coupled approach to connect platforms and build a publishing model for marketing content.
  • Provide system architecture review and design patterns for core microservices and define a headless content-based approach.
  • Enable greater CI automation and establish controls for measuring quality of output.
  • Collaborate with peers to shape the future vision for advanced platform capabilities.
  • Champion cultural and process changes, and provide quality and skills training to transform and scale teams.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of experience acting as a lead software engineer or equivalent.
  • Experience designing and building large-scale systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment.
  • Familiarity with AWS services including S3, API Gateway, Lambda, and others.
  • Knowledge of content and digital asset management publishing and syndication models.
  • Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React and Next.js.
  • Experience with programming languages like TypeScript, Python, Node.js, and Rust.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum principles and experience with tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Production experience with container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge in reliability engineering using observability and monitoring tools.
