About the position

The Principal Director for the GEOINT Futures Office at Aerospace Corporation will lead and manage acquisition support efforts within the Imagery Programs Division, primarily serving the NRO/GEOINT customer. This role involves providing management oversight, orchestrating technical leadership for major acquisition programs, and executing line management functions such as staffing and strategic planning. The Principal Director will also be responsible for maintaining effective communication with government leadership and ensuring the successful execution of all assigned accountabilities in a SCIF environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the GEOINT Futures Office organization, setting strategy, goals, and expectations.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor team members, driving engagement and retention of talent.
  • Work closely with government leadership to identify technical challenges and provide solutions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program information to senior managers.
  • Adjust staffing levels and make DEI-informed hiring decisions.
  • Maintain understanding of current and future customer needs through continuous interaction with leadership.
  • Establish strategic direction and objectives consistent with corporate goals and customer needs.
  • Encourage new ideas, tools, skills, and processes to enhance organizational capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related field.
  • Strong technical leadership skills with experience in leading interdisciplinary teams.
  • 13 or more years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering or program management.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with corporate staff, government customers, and contractors.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current and active TS/SBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Customer specific experience with Major System Acquisitions.
  • Prior experience managing teams in direct support of a customer in the program office.
  • Familiarity with the US Space Enterprise and operational concepts.
  • Experience in multiple GEOINT functional areas such as Radar, EO, IR, Spectral.
  • Work experience with mission assurance processes.
  • Comprehensive experience with DoD acquisition and program development processes.
