About the position

The Principal Electrical Design Engineer - Nuclear at PSEG will provide technical support for the Salem Power Uprate Project, acting as the Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for modifications necessary to support the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. This role involves managing design deliverables, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and coordinating engineering resources to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify for and fulfill the LRE role for the power uprate plant modifications and be accountable for the design 'cradle to grave'.
  • Establish modification scope, system performance requirements, and all testing requirements.
  • Perform Owners Acceptance Res for design analysis, modification packages, procurement, and specifications in accordance with plant procedures.
  • Manage technical supplier teams with respect to cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Schedule and coordinate Engineering and station department resources to deliver and install required design change packages.
  • Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
  • Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
  • Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.
  • Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical degree with 13 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
  • Availability for shift work during installation.
  • Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)
  • Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification
  • Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
