About the position
As a Senior Designer at Worley, you will play a crucial role in understanding and managing the project's scope, schedule, deliverables, and industry standards. This position requires a strong ability to work independently and within a team, ensuring compliance with client and company standards while overseeing the preparation of detailed electrical design drawings. You will be responsible for directing junior designers, participating in design reviews, and ensuring that all work is completed within time and budget constraints, contributing to the overall success of sustainable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Work within a team environment with minimal supervision, adhering to Client, Company, and Industry standards.
- Perform moderately to difficult drafting assignments using established techniques and software.
- Oversee the preparation of design and detail drawings from sketches and specifications.
- Take responsibility for the design and drafting of HV and LV electrical installations.
- Direct the work of junior designers and ensure compliance with client requirements and project specifications.
- Participate in design reviews with clients, advising on technical design and compliance issues.
- Complete work scope within time and budget constraints.
- Develop layouts, plans, sections, elevations, and details for facilities and equipment from reference drawings or catalogues.
- Perform dimensional and routine calculations for drawing preparation.
- Maintain records and files of electrical discipline documents.
- Ensure adherence to the Quality Assurance system relevant to the project.
Requirements
- Experience with SPEL and Microstation design software packages; AVEVA 2D/3D experience is a plus.
- Experience with SP3D, PDMS, PDS EERWAY 3D CAD systems and participation in 3D model reviews.
- Specialization in detailed drawings for lighting, small power, earthing systems, HV/LV single line diagrams, and control schematic diagrams.
- Experience in preparing installation details, grounding plans, and cable layouts.
- Proficient in lighting calculations using software such as AGI32 and DiaLux.
- Advanced electrical design experience in a refinery or similar industry environment.
- 2-3 year Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Design/Drafting or equivalent relevant experience with AutoCAD.
