About the position

Elbit Systems of America is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Merrimack, NH. The role involves researching, planning, designing, developing, analyzing, and testing various electronic equipment and systems. The successful candidate will work within a small team, tackling diverse challenges and supporting multiple programs in a dynamic integrated product team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out specific project responsibilities as part of larger program objectives involved in the design and development of products, equipment, or processes.
  • Design and lay out complex items, consulting with higher-level engineering personnel to resolve complex design alternatives.
  • Utilize electronic design tools such as schematic capture and review design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for test (DFT) objectives.
  • Develop specifications, schematics, assembly drawings, and bill of materials for production designs.
  • Prepare sub-system performance specifications and evaluate design alternatives for feasibility and competitiveness.
  • Provide direction on materials and processes for specific component applications and lead experiments to evaluate product characteristics.
  • Execute testing and troubleshooting activities, evaluating engineering prototypes and translating results into design criteria.
  • Conduct computer simulations to analyze, test, or design products and maintain liaison with other departments.
  • Respond to customer engineering queries and provide technical presentation support to marketing.
  • Utilize project planning and monitoring methods to ensure timely completion of projects and assume responsibility for successful completion of systems and sub-systems.
  • Assist in assuring the technical soundness of engineering programs and support manufacturing in resolving design problems.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to obtain quotations and recommend vendor selections, preparing engineering specifications for major purchases.
  • Prepare reports of field tests, startups, or installations and write technical instructions.
  • Supervise the work of other engineering personnel on projects and contribute to process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the industry, preferably in defense/government contracting.
  • Experience with electronic design tools such as Mentor Graphics, Cadence, or Altium.
  • Ability to travel 10%.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Required experience in high-speed digital design, FPGA and Microprocessors, and small low power electronics.
  • Understanding of power management principles and low voltage power distribution.
  • Experience in analog/mixed signal design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience with SI/PI PCB analysis tools such as Mentor Graphics and PC layout tools for Expedition workflow.
  • LT SPICE experience.
  • Experience in digital interfaces (I2C, USB, MIPI, SPI, DisplayPort) and electro-optical devices.
