About the position

The Principal Electrical Engineer - Test Equipment position at Raytheon involves leading the design, development, and integration of test solutions for various products within a hands-on, multidisciplinary engineering team. The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, with responsibilities spanning the entire development lifecycle of test products, including technical, cost, and schedule management. This position is based in Tucson, Arizona, and emphasizes innovation and collaboration in a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate Raytheon products within the Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) team.
  • Develop engineering and production test systems, including test interface adapters and cabling.
  • Create technical drawings and schematics, and perform circuit design and analysis.
  • Contribute to all stages of test product development, ensuring technical, cost, and schedule management of assigned projects.
  • Act independently or as part of a team to identify and resolve issues related to test product development and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with eight years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree with five years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • Experience with electrical engineering design, troubleshooting, analysis, and testing.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, and Mentor Capital.
  • Experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Science degree in STEM fields.
  • Technical leadership experience in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience in analog, digital, and/or RF design.
  • Experience in designing, testing, and integrating digital and mixed signal systems.
  • Familiarity with integrated development environments and debugging tools.
  • Strong technical writing and formal presentation skills.
  • Project management experience and bid/proposal experience.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and optimization techniques.
