The Principal Electrical Engineer at Vantive will play a crucial role in the design, verification, and documentation of electronic circuits specifically for medical devices. This position is integral to the company's mission of providing best-in-class care in the kidney care space, building on a legacy of nearly 70 years in acute therapies and dialysis. The successful candidate will be expected to utilize their skills in schematic capture, layout techniques, mathematical modeling, and simulation, alongside hands-on lab skills such as troubleshooting and prototype building. This role requires a self-starter who can balance theoretical knowledge with practical application in design processes. As a member of both in-house and global cross-functional teams, the Principal Electrical Engineer will be responsible for performing design tasks that include schematic capture and layout of electronic circuits tailored for medical device applications. The role encompasses the design and prototyping of digital systems, including microprocessors and FPGAs, as well as analog circuits, audio, instrumentation, and optical circuits. The engineer will also be tasked with designing high-speed signal lines using transmission line techniques and conducting mathematical analyses of circuit designs. In addition to design responsibilities, the engineer will generate PCBA build files, including bills of materials (BOMs), gerbers, assembly, and fabrication drawings. Bench-level testing and verification will be essential, as will collaboration with contract manufacturers to ensure that PCBA design packages meet manufacturability and yield requirements. Documentation of design requirements, analyses, and descriptions will also be a key part of the role, ensuring that all design processes are thoroughly recorded and communicated.
