The Principal Electrical Engineer at Vantive will play a crucial role in the design, verification, and documentation of electronic circuits specifically for medical devices. This position is integral to the company's mission of providing best-in-class kidney care and other vital organ support. The successful candidate will be expected to leverage their expertise in schematic capture, layout techniques, mathematical modeling, and simulation, while also demonstrating hands-on lab skills such as troubleshooting and prototype building. This role requires a self-starter who can balance theoretical knowledge with practical application, ensuring that designs meet both functional and manufacturability requirements. As a member of both in-house and global cross-functional teams, the Principal Electrical Engineer will be responsible for performing design tasks that include the schematic capture and layout of electronic circuits tailored for medical device applications. The engineer will design and prototype digital systems, which may include microprocessors, FPGAs, and other supporting digital circuits. Additionally, the role encompasses the design of analog circuits, including audio, instrumentation, and optical circuits, as well as high-speed signal lines that utilize transmission line techniques. Mathematical analysis of circuit designs will also be a key responsibility, ensuring that all designs are robust and reliable. The position will involve generating PCBA build files, which include bills of materials (BOMs), Gerber files, assembly, and fabrication drawings. The engineer will conduct bench-level testing and verification of designs, collaborating with contract manufacturers to deliver PCBA design packages that meet manufacturability and yield requirements. Furthermore, the role requires thorough documentation of design requirements, design analysis, and design descriptions, contributing to the overall quality and compliance of the engineering process.
