About the position

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a talented Principal Electrical Engineer to join a diverse team dedicated to creating unique solutions for complex problems. With a presence across the United States, we engage in various fields including defense, space, cyber, and commercial sectors, providing responsive and cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions. Our office in Beavercreek, OH is particularly interested in Electrical Engineers who have experience or a keen interest in the modeling, simulation, and analysis of electronic warfare systems, radars (both ground-based and airborne), missile and aircraft systems, or RF/EO/IR sensors. In this role, the Principal Electrical Engineer will leverage strong technical skills and excellent interpersonal abilities to collaborate with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists. The primary focus will be on solving challenging technical questions related to highly complex systems. The engineer will also be responsible for providing technical management across a variety of tasks. A significant portion of the work will involve supporting the Scientific and Technical Intelligence community, including organizations such as NASIC, MSIC, NGIC, and ONI, as well as the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Sensors Directorate. This position presents an exciting opportunity to apply a diverse set of technical and task management skills while contributing to important and meaningful work immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists to solve complex technical problems.
  • Perform technical management on various engineering tasks.
  • Support the Scientific and Technical Intelligence community and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
  • Engage in the modeling, simulation, and analysis of electronic warfare systems, radars, missile and aircraft systems, or RF/EO/IR sensors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited school in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 8-12+ years of relevant engineering experience or 6-10+ years of relevant work history with a relevant MS degree.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, and/or analysis of electronic warfare systems, radars, missile and aircraft systems, or RF/EO/IR sensors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a technical team environment.
  • Must be a US citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top-Secret Clearance.
