About the position

The Principal Electronics Engineer (Supplier Management Team Lead) or Senior Principal Electronics Engineer (Supplier Management Team Lead) at Northrop Grumman will play a crucial role in the Avionics Integration Organization. This position involves leading a team responsible for managing supplier performance and ensuring the successful integration of aviation-related communications systems. The role requires a strong background in engineering, particularly in the areas of RF Line of Sight, SATCOM, and tactical networks, and offers opportunities for hybrid work arrangements after initial onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the efforts of the Supplier Management Team (SMT), including engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the execution of all phases of supplier performance, including planning, proposals, and testing.
  • Conduct reviews of supplier documentation such as technical evaluations and acceptance test procedures.
  • Report supplier status to Program Managers and IPT Management.
  • Lead a team of Engineers in the design, development, and validation of communication products.
  • Create and develop documentation for system requirements and interfaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with no experience for Principal level.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a PhD with 3 years of experience for Senior level.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance and Special Program Access (SAP).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • Experience managing suppliers in a government/DOD contract context.
  • Experience with contract negotiations and technical evaluations of proposals.
  • Program Management experience or completion of Project Management Professional course.
  • Experience with UAVs, satellites, or military-grade air vehicles.
