About the position

The position is for a Verification Field Applications Engineer at Cadence, where the individual will work closely with semiconductor and system companies to deploy Cadence's emulation and FPGA prototyping platforms. This role involves providing technical support during the pre and post-sales process, developing customer-specific requirements, and creating technical presentations and demonstrations. The engineer will also collaborate with R&D to support advanced verification flows and champion customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front line technical support in the pre and post-sales process.
  • Develop customer specific emulation and prototyping requirements.
  • Support technical evaluations and benchmark development for Cadence's tools.
  • Create and conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for customers.
  • Establish technical credibility and rapport with customers.
  • Provide in-depth technical assistance in collaboration with R&D.
  • Champion customer needs and work closely with R&D and marketing.
  • Write technical product literature such as application notes and technical articles.
  • Review new product proposals and device specifications.
  • Assume technical leadership roles in small teams as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong verification skills with expertise in UVM, testbench architecture, and testbench development.
  • Strong RTL and testbench debug skills (SimVision, GDB).
  • Fundamental SoC architecture knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX, C/C++, and scripting programming languages such as Perl and TCL.
  • Knowledge of protocols like JTAG, UART, PCIe, AXI, DDR is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated and strong teamwork skills.
  • Experience in HW acceleration, In-Circuit Emulation, or FPGA prototyping is highly desirable.
  • BS or MS in Electronic Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of protocols like JTAG, UART, PCIe, AXI, DDR.
