We are seeking a Principal Engineer Dev Ops - DevSecOps Engineer to join our team, focusing on the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. This program is integral to the Missile Defense System, enabling high-level officials to plan and manage ballistic missile defense operations effectively. The C2BMC program supports a layered missile defense capability, optimizing responses to various threats and ensuring the integration of autonomous sensor and weapon systems. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to developing and deploying infrastructure as a service and platform as a service capabilities. You will assist in managing multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation within a DevSecOps framework. Your work will involve utilizing leading DevOps practices and tools, including Hashicorp Tools, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible Tower, and Nexus Pro. You will also address systems administration issues related to hardware and software across different network environments, ensuring the smooth operation of critical customer programs. As a Principal Engineer, you will be expected to support the deployment of custom software solutions, propose process improvements, determine system requirements, and identify and resolve program support deficiencies. You will also have the opportunity to provide technical guidance to database administrators and software developers, contributing to the overall success of the team and the program.

Responsibilities

  • Support the C2BMC DevSecOps team in developing and deploying infrastructure as a service and platform as a service capabilities.
  • Assist in managing multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Deploy custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software.
  • Propose system administration process improvements to reduce maintenance requirements.
  • Determine system requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
  • Develop and recommend corrective actions for identified issues.
  • Provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.

Requirements

  • An active Secret clearance is required to start.
  • 5 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field; 3 years with a Master of Science degree; or 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
  • Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration.
  • Scripting skills in languages such as bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with automation in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Effective communication skills with excellent writing and presentation abilities using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible Tower.
  • Experience with HashiCorp Packer and Vault.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD and Nexus.
  • Experience in virtualization technology, including VMware.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the software development life cycle is highly desired.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology is highly desired.
