About the position

The Principal Engineer Dev Ops - DevSecOps Engineer position at Northrop Grumman involves supporting the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. This role focuses on developing and deploying infrastructure as a service and platform as a service capabilities within a collaborative DevSecOps team. The engineer will manage multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation, utilizing leading DevOps practices and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support the C2BMC DevSecOps team in developing and deploying infrastructure as a service and platform as a service capabilities.
  • Assist in managing multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Collaborate with other DevSecOps engineers and program development teams.
  • Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software.
  • Propose system administration process improvements to reduce maintenance requirements.
  • Determine system requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
  • Develop and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.

Requirements

  • An active Secret clearance is required to start.
  • 5 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field; or 3 years with a Master of Science degree; or 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
  • Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration.
  • Scripting skills in languages such as bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with automation.
  • Effective communication skills with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible Tower.
  • Experience with HashiCorp Packer and Vault.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience with Nexus.
  • Experience in virtualization technology, including VMware.
  • Understanding of HP server configuration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding the software development life cycle is highly desired.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology is highly desired.
