About the position

The Principal Engineer DevOps - DevSecOps Engineer position at Northrop Grumman involves supporting the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. This role focuses on developing and deploying Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capabilities, managing multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment for a critical customer program. The position requires effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively on large projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the C2BMC DevSecOps team in developing and deploying Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capabilities.
  • Manage multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Work independently on large projects and collaborate with other DevSecOps engineers and program development teams.
  • Handle systems administration-related hardware and software issues for different network environments.
  • Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software.
  • Propose system administration process improvements to reduce overall maintenance requirements.
  • Determine systems requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance is required to start.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher is required to start.
  • Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration.
  • Scripting skills in languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with automation and knowledge of DevSecOps principles.
  • Experience with leading DevOps practices and tooling: Ansible Automation Platform, HashiCorp Packer and Vault, Gitlab CI/CD, Nexus Pro, and virtualization technology including VMware.

Nice-to-haves
