About the position

The Principal Engineer DevOps - DevSecOps Engineer position at Northrop Grumman involves supporting the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. The role focuses on developing and deploying Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capabilities, managing multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment for a critical customer program.

Responsibilities

  • Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
  • Work independently on large projects and collaborate with other DevSecOps engineers and program development teams.
  • Understand HP server configuration.
  • Work on systems administration-related hardware and software issues for different network environments.
  • Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software.
  • Propose system administration process improvements to reduce overall maintenance requirements.
  • Determine systems requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
  • Develop and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.

Requirements

  • An active Secret clearance is required to start.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher is required to start.
  • Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration.
  • Scripting skills in languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with automation.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps principles.
  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible Tower, HashiCorp Packer and Vault, Gitlab CI/CD, and Nexus Pro.
  • Experience in virtualization technology, including VMware.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the software development life cycle.
