About the position

The Principal Engineer DevOps - DevSecOps Engineer at Northrop Grumman is responsible for supporting the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. This role involves developing and deploying Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capabilities, managing multiple environments, and ensuring effective software deployment and automation in a DevSecOps environment. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Support the C2BMC DevSecOps team in developing and deploying Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capabilities.
• Manage multiple environments and software deployment in a DevSecOps environment.
• Troubleshoot and automate processes for critical customer programs.
• Work independently on large projects and collaborate with other DevSecOps engineers and program teams.
• Propose system administration process improvements to reduce maintenance requirements.
• Determine systems requirements and ensure hardware/software compatibility.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
• Develop and recommend corrective actions for system issues.

Requirements

• An active Secret clearance is required to start.
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline preferred with 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher is required.
• Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration.
• Scripting skills in languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
• Experience with automation and knowledge of DevSecOps principles.
• Familiarity with leading DevOps practices and tooling such as Ansible, HashiCorp, Gitlab CI/CD, and Nexus Pro.
• Experience in virtualization technology, including VMware.
