About the position

The Principal Engineer DevOps- DevSecOps Engineer will support the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. This role involves developing and deploying Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capabilities, while working both independently on large projects and collaboratively within a team. The position requires effective communication skills and a strong understanding of systems administration and DevSecOps principles.

Responsibilities

• Support the C2BMC DevSecOps team in developing and deploying Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capabilities.
• Work independently on large projects and collaborate in a team environment.
• Communicate effectively using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
• Handle systems administration-related hardware and software issues for different network environments.
• Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software.
• Propose system administration process improvements to reduce overall maintenance requirements.
• Determine systems requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
• Develop and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.

Requirements

• An active Secret clearance is required to start.
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline preferred and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
• DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher is required to start.
• Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration.
• Scripting skills in languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
• Experience with automation and knowledge of DevSecOps principles.
• Experience with leading DevOps practices and tooling: Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible Tower, HashiCorp Packer and Vault, Gitlab CI/CD, Nexus Pro.
• Experience in virtualization technology, including VMware.
