About the position

The Principal Engineer for the GenAI Knowledge Assets team at Visa will lead the technical vision and direction for developing enterprise-level solutions that enhance GenAI applications. This role involves collaboration with various teams to design knowledge management systems, drive technical roadmaps, and ensure effective utilization of Visa's data assets. The position is pivotal in fostering innovation and implementing strategies for GenAI adoption within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams, data science teams, and development teams to drive the technical roadmap and guide development and implementation of new data-driven business solutions.
• Drive technical standards and best practices, continuously improving AI Platform engineering scalability.
• Coach and mentor junior team members and evolve the team talent pipeline.
• Define a structured architectural approach to address the component parts of the document framework, formulate relevant hypotheses, and support project work steps.
• Drive effective implementation and evolution of document governance for access and use based on document content, confidentiality, and access requirements.
• Develop creative, novel, disruptive, but practical solutions to challenges faced.
• Partner with the Global Data Office to develop technological solutions to automate key document management functions and enhance Visa Library capabilities.
• Monitor and understand the global AI solutions landscape to bring the best solutions and practices to the Visa ecosystem.
• Engage in hands-on coding at least 20% of the time in preferred coding languages.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree, or at least 9 years of work experience with an advanced degree, or 6 years of work experience with a PhD, or 15+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with the implementation of knowledge frameworks and solutions for GenAI applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Rust, Golang, Java, Python, or C/C++.
• Expertise in web service standards and related patterns (REST, gRPC).
• Advanced knowledge of AI / Generative AI / Data Science.
• Authority in architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in mind.
• Expertise in distributed in-memory computing technologies like Redis.
