About the position

The Principal Engineer, Geotechnical at ECS Corporate Services, LLC is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to Geotechnical staff across branches and regions. This role involves overseeing projects, conducting technical report reviews, preparing proposals, and assisting in business development. The Principal Engineer will also mentor junior staff and participate in staffing decisions, ensuring the department's effective management and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and support to Geotechnical staff within a branch and region.
  • Host or attend project meetings with clients and ECS staff to provide technical solutions.
  • Mentor Associate Principals and participate in the review committee for Associate Principal designation candidates.
  • Oversee projects and perform technical report reviews at office and regional levels.
  • Prepare and review proposals for projects.
  • Assist with management of the department and P&L.
  • Engage in business development and maintain client interactions to market services.
  • Assist hiring managers in staffing decisions.
  • Lead and coach junior staff members.
  • Perform tasks across departments due to low barriers between them.

Requirements

  • Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
  • 12 years of related experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Designation as a senior reviewer at current or previous firm is required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each state of work.
  • Valid driver's license required if driving for ECS subsidiaries.
