About the position

The Principal Engineer Dev Ops - DevSecOps Engineer at Northrop Grumman is responsible for supporting the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates missile defense systems for strategic operations. This role involves developing and deploying infrastructure as a service and platform as a service capabilities, managing multiple environments, and automating processes in a collaborative DevSecOps environment. The engineer will work with leading DevOps practices and tools to enhance system performance and support critical customer programs.

Responsibilities

• Support the C2BMC DevSecOps team in developing and deploying infrastructure as a service and platform as a service capabilities.
• Manage multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment.
• Work on systems administration-related issues with hardware and software for different network environments.
• Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software.
• Propose system administration process improvements to reduce maintenance requirements.
• Determine system requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and system configuration maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field; 3 years with a Master of Science degree in Computer Science or related field, or 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration.
• Scripting skills in languages such as bash or PowerShell.
• Experience with automation.
• Effective communication skills with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
• Ability to work independently and as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on large projects.
• Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible Tower.
• Experience in virtualization technology, including VMware.
• Understanding of HP server configuration.
• Understanding of the software development life cycle is highly desired.
• Experience with Agile Methodology is highly desired.
