About the position

The Principal Engineer in Industrial Engineering at Western Digital is responsible for managing and controlling the silicon (NAND) supply chain. This role focuses on planning, forecasting, and implementing activities related to short-term NAND supply planning, while also contributing to process improvements and tool enhancements. The successful candidate will analyze and compute monthly supply buckets to guide demand planning and business allocation.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the silicon supply buckets allocation process collaborating with Demand Planning, Product Planning and Business Unit leads
• Troubleshoot and resolve gaps in supply response produced by the Advanced Planning System (APS)
• Define and optimize NAND consumption strategy to meet quarterly revenue targets
• Support technology transitions for products, new product ramps and managing end of life plans from a silicon supply standpoint
• Lead multi-functional efforts to resolve planning issues by bringing relevant stakeholders together
• Communicate results of analyses, observations, and recommendations to senior management and business teams
• Conceptualize and spearhead initiatives to improve processes and tools

Requirements

• Programming (Python) and SQL
• Working experience with Excel & Power BI or Tableau
• 8 years of experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, take ownership and proactive action
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
