About the position

NextEra Energy is currently seeking a Process Controls Engineer who can apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and process control practices to a broad variety of assignments related to power generation and energy storage. Employees in this role have the responsibility of specifying control system platform requirements, developing control strategies, and managing the implementation of process control functional logic and HMI execution. This position is critical as it involves making decisions and recommendations that have significant impacts on extensive engineering and related activities for the company. The role requires negotiation of critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies. In this position, the engineer will demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities. The engineer will manage one or more programs of complex diversity and scope which are of critical importance to overall company objectives. Additionally, the engineer will act as a subject matter expert and perform other job-related duties as assigned. This role is essential for the company's mission to lead the decarbonization of the U.S. economy and to improve customer affordability and reliability.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in process controls and SCADA integration.
