About the position

As a Principal Engineer - Software you will drive the technical direction of our product offerings and solutions across multiple platforms and value streams. Guides the evolution of our software engineering practices throughout the full product life cycle, from conception to retirement. Understands multiple web application integration points, interdependencies, and standard data exchange and control protocols. Has a passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical direction of product offerings and solutions across multiple platforms.
• Guide the evolution of software engineering practices throughout the full product life cycle.
• Understand multiple web application integration points and interdependencies.
• Stay updated on tech trends and experiment with new technologies.
• Mentor other members of the engineering community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 10 -12 years of relevant work experience.
• Four (4) years of experience being the technical lead over a group of engineers overseeing large scale projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with mentoring technical reports and facilitating presentations for leadership.
• Experience with third party databases, application libraries, interfaces, and internet protocols.
• Understanding of modern software engineering principles and architecture patterns.
• Proficient with cloud native framework, containers, web architecture design patterns, and API development (REST, GRAPHQL, SOAP).
• Proficient in various development frameworks and UI/UX technologies: J2EE (Java, JSP, and JDBC), .NET, Python, Node, and React.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD architecture and automated testing.
• Experience with developing and integrating into digital marketing, content delivery, and digital payment technologies.
• Familiarity with Commercial SAAS and PAAS platforms, such as Salesforce, AWS, Azure, Office 365, Oracle.
• Experience in guiding program vision and mentorship for Salesforce and Digital Marketing technologies.
• Experience with data modeling and data architecture across disparate technologies.
• Experience working in a large sized organization with diverse divisions.
