The Energetics and Propulsion Department, part of the Mechanical Engineering Directorate, is seeking a Principal Engineer - Solid Propulsion to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. This role is pivotal in the design and development of propulsion technology that supports our Land Warfare and Air Defense mission areas. As a Principal Engineer, you will apply or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts to integrate propulsion systems, thrusters, controllers, software, and mechanical and electrical interfaces into missile systems and space vehicles. In this position, you will be involved in both development and production programs across various Raytheon Product Lines. You will review manufacturing processes, resolve problems, and work directly with subcontractors on the design and manufacturing of solid rocket motor propulsion systems. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with program management on long-range planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements. You will also serve as a key spokesperson on the program's technical capabilities and future directions, developing and delivering technical presentations to management and government agencies.
