About the position

The Principal System Architecture Engineer at T-Mobile is responsible for developing and evolving technical network and service architectures to enhance the T-Mobile Technology portfolio. This role involves creating detailed schematics, evaluating network simulations, and leading technology studies. The engineer will work on complex technical assignments, requiring significant judgment and initiative, and will be expected to influence industry forums and drive technical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve technical network and service architectures.
  • Create, adapt, or revise detailed schematics of network and service architecture.
  • Perform, evaluate, or interpret network simulation and test results.
  • Lead teams to deliver complex solutions under the USP architecture.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis of technology solutions and drive full business case analysis.
  • Supervise base through senior level engineers as needed.
  • Present project improvement scenarios to management for consideration.
  • Write advanced documentation on technologies and systems.
  • Monitor and influence relevant industry technologies and standards.
  • Evaluate new and existing technology options that support business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
  • 7-10 years of technical engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in USP Services.
  • 3+ years of experience with CWMP protocol.
  • 5+ years as lead developer on an enterprise-grade containerized application.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with E2E systems and designing client-server enterprise systems.
  • Proficiency with FOTA/COTA, MQTT, C Language, Yocto, RDK, TR 069/369.
  • Hands-on experience with open source libraries (protobuf, libjson, libcurl, libmosquitto).
  • Hands-on experience with container environments (K8, Dockers, DAC, LXC).
