About the position

The Principal Engineer Systems - Global ART Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and integrating future-capability prototypes for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) within the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications Experimentation Laboratory (C2BMC X-Lab). This role involves applying a disciplined systems engineering approach to define, develop, and analyze capabilities, as well as participating in prototype tests and enhancing experimental prototypes based on performance results.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and integrate systems-of-systems for the C2BMC X-Lab.
  • Analyze high-level needs and refine them into an integrated set of requirements.
  • Communicate technical approaches and findings effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Work on IRAD-type projects and demonstrate full cycle systems engineering skills.
  • Derive capabilities and requirements based on customer needs.
  • Design system interfaces and develop Interface Control Documents.
  • Lead the integration of R&D systems into C2BMC and contribute to ongoing projects.
  • Assess the performance of the C2BMC prototype system using state vectors and source tracks.
  • Enhance C2BMC for future operations based on experimental results.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 year of experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in an integrated team environment with systems, software, and specialty engineers.
  • Experience with use case development, system requirements, and performance specification development.
  • Proficiency in UML modeling and understanding of systems engineering processes.
  • Comfortable with rapidly changing requirements and tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Operations Concept (OPSCON) and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development.
  • Experience with system and subsystem decomposition and integration practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current and active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.
