About the position

The Principal Engineer Systems Integration is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems that integrate various electrical components. This role requires extensive experience in systems studies and a strong background in Electrical Engineering, focusing on developing new design guidelines, conducting technical analyses, and supporting product compliance and certification processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and direct product design and development, establishing new design guidelines and tools including CAD programs.
  • Conduct calculations and analysis using closed-form methods, computer applications, and multi-physics FEA and other simulation tools.
  • Support the sales department by providing technical input to negotiations of non-standard products.
  • Address technical questions from other departments and customers outside general design guidelines.
  • Prepare drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other documentation necessary for manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning of products.
  • Create and enhance design guidelines by leveraging experience and engaging subject matter experts.
  • Prepare engineering reports on various products or technical fields, collaborating with external consultants or subject matter experts.
  • Direct the development of new products by coordinating specifications, prototype design, validation tests, and supporting documentation.
  • Review product compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations, developing strategies for compliance and certification.
  • Lead the preparation of technical papers and provide input to invention disclosures.
  • Represent the company before customers and at technical conferences in support of marketing and sales.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Science; Master's or PhD preferred.
  • 8-12 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional certification or license required.
  • 5-8 years of experience using relevant CAD, PDM, and/or simulation software.
  • 3-5 years of experience using applicable industry standards.
  • Experience writing technical papers, preferably as lead author.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing projects with durations of up to one year and teams of up to three members.
