About the position

The Systems Engineer position at Raytheon focuses on the integration and analysis of radar systems, specifically the SPY-6 and GhostEye families of radars. The role involves identifying issues, generating solutions, and verifying their implementation, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with systems and software engineers. This position requires on-site support and is integral to the Mission Systems Integration activities within the Systems Engineering Directorate.

Responsibilities

  • Identify issues in radar systems and generate solutions.
  • Verify that solutions are implemented as designed.
  • Develop concepts of operations for radar systems.
  • Create radar software requirements.
  • Conduct statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data.
  • Develop analysis tools to support problem identification and resolution.
  • Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers to implement solutions.
  • Focus on signal processing, waveform design, and electronic protection methods.
  • Engage in phased array and digital beamforming technology analysis.
  • Participate in integration and testing of large radar systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
  • Active and in-scope Secret US security clearance.
  • Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar systems and software.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++.
  • Experience with technical writing and oral presentations.
  • Systems Engineering experience on DoD systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters or PhD in a STEM field.
  • Experience with multi-sensor track management and data fusion.
  • Knowledge of adaptive signal processing and clutter mitigation techniques.
  • Familiarity with electronic attack and electronic protection methods.
  • Experience with sensor resource management and mission planning.
