About the position

The Principal, Enterprise Application Engineer will lead the design and implementation of the STIBO Systems Master Data Management (MDM) platform at Wiley. This role is crucial for defining the product MDM strategy, architecture, and deployment efforts, ensuring data quality and governance standards are met. The engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders to simplify product master data governance processes and drive technology roadmaps in alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implementation of STIBO Systems Master Data Management (MDM) platform.
  • Define detailed STIBO solution architecture and data models.
  • Implement product MDM best practices in data modeling, profiling, quality assessment, integration, and governance.
  • Provide technical leadership to the project team and support data mapping.
  • Define policies and business rules for master data creation and maintenance.
  • Guide project team in STEP data migration and deployment efforts.
  • Lead design and implementation of product master data hierarchies and taxonomies.
  • Interact with business stakeholders to prioritize and implement enhancements in STIBO.
  • Guide definition and rollout of data governance strategies and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven business acumen in design and implementation of STEP product domain.
  • Hands-on knowledge of MDM product data ingestion and publish mechanisms.
  • Strong experience in MDM strategy, architecture, design, integration, data quality, and governance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently with business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of product data models and experience in designing solutions in the publishing industry.
  • Experience with STEP data modeling, web UI configurations, and integration endpoints.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with publishing industry standards like ONIX and OCLC.
  • Experience in SAFE Agile methodology.
