About the position

The Principal Enterprise Data Transformation Architect at Cepheid is responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of data transformation architecture across the organization. This role is crucial in shaping Cepheid's data strategy, ensuring that data systems are robust, scalable, and aligned with business goals. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data transformation architecture from conception to execution, impacting patient outcomes through innovative diagnostic solutions.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses.
• Define the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, reference data, and master data.
• Define data flows and manage how data changes in transition across the organization.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies to safeguard data quality, accuracy, and security.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficacy of Data Transformation and automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field with 20+ years of related work experience, OR master's degree with 15+ years of related work experience.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in data architecture and data transformation roles with a strong track record of successful project implementations.
• 10+ years' experience in data management, data governance, and data integration best practices.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Proficient in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Java.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with MLOps (model deployment, maintenance, retrain, etc.).
• Experience in security architectures relevant to data systems in the healthcare or diagnostics industry.
