About the position

The Principal Field Service Engineer position at FormFactor, Inc. is a critical role that involves independent execution of preventive and corrective maintenance at customer sites. This position requires the installation and commissioning of metrology systems, probe systems, and metrological accessories, ensuring that all products and assemblies meet the necessary test and acceptance regulations. The engineer will be responsible for preparing commissioning protocols and acceptance reports, which are essential for maintaining high standards of service and product quality. In addition to technical responsibilities, the role includes providing technical training and instruction to both FormFactor Field Service Engineers and customers. This aspect of the job is vital for ensuring that all personnel are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate and maintain the equipment effectively. Troubleshooting and repairing equipment is another key responsibility, which may involve providing support over the phone or directly at the customer's site. The Principal Field Service Engineer will also be responsible for professional customer communication, ensuring that all interactions are handled with the utmost professionalism and respect. Timely processing, documentation, invoicing, and control of work orders, customer orders, and service calls are essential tasks that must be performed according to FormFactor guidelines. Collaboration with other departments within FormFactor is encouraged to foster continuous improvement of products and services. Regular participation in qualification measures and adherence to health and safety requirements are also critical components of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Independent execution of preventive and corrective maintenance at the customer's site.
  • Installation and commissioning of metrology systems, probe systems, and metrological accessories.

Requirements

  • Engineer or technician in the field of electrical engineering, automation technology, or similar.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
