About the position

The Finance Analyst role within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Finance focuses on financial planning and modeling for a specific product family. This position serves as a key business advisor to the product and engineering teams, with end-to-end P&L ownership. The role requires a finance professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to lead product-specific projects while collaborating across various levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support Database Cloud Product and Engineering as a finance analyst.
  • Develop scenario-based financial and business models emphasizing product-level insights.
  • Perform competitive analysis, pricing, and cost modeling for new product introductions (NPI).
  • Link business strategy to financial reporting using KPIs and goal setting.
  • Understand and influence investment decisions through detailed financial analysis.
  • Drive gross margin optimization efforts through analysis of business and operational drivers.
  • Own financial ROB activities in line with corporate and business requirements.
  • Participate in Quarter End activities and contribute to the close process.
  • Contribute to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to ensure timely and appropriate capacity investments.
  • Embed with engineering leaders to become their trusted advisor.
  • Drive policies and procedures that support operational and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of finance experience; MBA is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technology and Infrastructure preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills to work across disciplines and levels of the organization.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to translate ideas into operational plans.
  • Track record of using data insights for decision-making.
  • Strong partnering capabilities to influence others without direct authority.
  • Initiative to achieve value-added results.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Excellent analytic and strategic thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-directed and proactive with the ability to multi-task.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting engineering teams is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and analysis tools.
