About the position

The Principal Financial Analyst plays a key role in business partnering with the Commercial Information Technology team, managing all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and financial decision support. This position involves broad exposure and interaction with various divisions and regions across Boston Scientific in the management of Global IT initiatives. The role requires collaboration with the Corporate Functions finance team and follows a hybrid work model, necessitating in-office presence at least three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance partner in support of Commercial IT programs and initiatives.
• Oversee all aspects of the monthly financial close process including necessary journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance/trend analysis.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages shared with senior management highlighting key drivers of financial performance and communicating areas of opportunity and risk.
• Support the strategic planning process, annual operating plan process, and quarterly forecasting process for your functions, ensuring adherence to financial targets and visibility to financial drivers.
• Support Value Improvement Programs by providing finance expertise to estimate and validate savings assumptions.
• Support ad-hoc reporting and cross-functional initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement to gain efficiencies as the business continues to scale.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related discipline
• 7+ years of relevant FP&A Experience
• Strong foundation in GAAP and financial analytics
• Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Effective communication and business collaboration skills
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, highly matrixed, global organization
• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Experience with Finance systems (SAP, Hyperion/Oracle)
• Ability to work autonomously and act in a consultative role
• MBA / master's degree
