About the position

The Principal Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the High Consequence Missions (HCM) Finance Team at Nightwing. This position involves managing complex financial deliverables, overseeing program life-cycle activities, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and compliance within government contracting environments. The role requires a strong analytical mindset and advanced Excel skills to drive financial performance and support program management effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Creation and submittal of complex Customer financial deliverables.
  • Program life-cycle activities such as project setup and maintenance, invoicing support, and month-end close process.
  • Monitoring Subcontractors and Vendors to track metrics including subcontract value, funding, and invoice payments.
  • Development of time-phased budgets, forecasting, and analysis of bookings, sales, profit, and cash.
  • Development of quarterly estimates at completion (EAC).
  • Overseeing contract funding and value associated with numerous funding entities.
  • Support program billings by preparing invoice submittals and Customer desired supporting documentation.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and data integrity checks to review and validate program cost performance.
  • Drive understanding of variances and work with key stakeholders to address risks & opportunities.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 5+ years of related financial experience in a Government Contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Basic knowledge of multiple contract types: CPFF, FFP, T&M, CPAF.
  • Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to interface effectively with Program Management team and other functional organizations.
  • Ability to multi-task and guide priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer focus and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience working with SAP (APEX & Prism).
  • TS/SCI Clearance, or higher.
