About the position

The Principal Financial Associate will play a crucial role in the development and modification of complex accounting models, collaborating closely with team members to ensure that these models align with their general ledger responsibilities. This position requires a deep understanding of financial management operations, as the candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying financial transaction requests directed to the Government's Financial Management System Technical Team. Additionally, the role involves the development and modification of financial instructions, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support the Government's financial processes effectively. In this position, the Principal Financial Associate will oversee various financial projects, integrating strategies with other business solutions to enhance operational efficiency. The candidate will assist government representatives in managing financial operations, monitor and coordinate program resource allocations, and support meetings with stakeholders. A significant aspect of the role includes leading research and conducting stakeholder interviews to document and understand requirements, business processes, and existing data challenges. This understanding will be pivotal in developing and implementing process improvements. The candidate will also perform in-depth analyses to explore the connections between business processes, data inputs, information requirements, and potential solutions. Participation in system engineering and technical exchange meetings will be essential to resolve architectural, design, system interoperability, and policy issues swiftly. Furthermore, the Principal Financial Associate will coordinate and participate in milestone events, including requirement reviews, design reviews, and program management reviews, ensuring that all financial projects are aligned with the overall objectives of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial projects with strategies and integration of other business solutions.
  • Assist the government with financial management operations.
  • Monitor and coordinate program resource allocations.
  • Support Government representatives at meetings.
  • Lead research and stakeholder interviews to document and understand requirements, business processes, and existing data challenges.
  • Perform in-depth analysis to understand the links between business processes, data inputs, information requirements, and potential solutions.
  • Coordinate and participate in system engineering and technical exchange meetings to support quick resolution of architectural, design, system interoperability, and policy issues.
  • Coordinate and participate in milestone events including requirement reviews, design reviews, and program management reviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience improving data integrity, internal controls, and financial reporting for PP&E.
  • Experience related to General Ledger (GL) and corresponding financial transaction analysis to ensure financial data is current and accurate to support the development of auditable financial statements.
  • Experience in financial statement compilation, financial statement audit, and auditability efforts.
  • Strong Excel skills, with a focus on pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.
  • CPA license.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with FS Poly.
