About the position

Farallon Consulting, L.L.C. is seeking a Principal Geologist or Hydrogeologist to join their Oakland, California office. This full-time position involves managing a variety of environmental projects, including contaminated site investigations, remediation, and regulatory coordination. The role requires a commitment to quality and client service, as well as the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a broad range of projects in contaminated site investigation and remediation.
• Conduct environmental due diligence and litigation support.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies for project compliance.
• Prepare proposals, summary reports, and formal cleanup documentation.
• Work collaboratively with scientists and engineers on business development.
• Ensure project quality and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, or related field from an accredited university.
• Professionally licensed in California.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in environmental consulting.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams for remediation projects.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Subject matter expert qualifications on emerging contaminants or sediments.
• Previous experience as a consulting or testifying expert on hazardous substances.
• Professional registrations in Alaska, Nevada, or Washington.
• Existing client relationships.
