About The Position

The Principal Ground Systems Engineer at SAIC will play a crucial role in supporting a Space Program Office focused on procuring satellite vehicles and their associated ground segments. This position requires expertise in ground segment acquisitions, operations, and maintenance, along with a strong background in systems engineering to ensure successful delivery and integration of ground command and control systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with fourteen (14) years or more experience; Master's degree with twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD with nine (9) years or more experience. Additional years of professional experience may substitute for a degree.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
• Familiarity with ground segment acquisitions and related operations & maintenance (O&M) of those systems.
• Ability to deliver systems in accordance with detailed site integration standards.
• Understanding of government acquisition processes.
• Experience with network architecture applications.
• Experience with DevSecOps.
• CSEP and/or PMP certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering support for requirements development, design, test plans, and requirements verifications through acceptance testing from developers.
• Coordinate across geographically diverse sites for delivery and acceptance testing, requiring travel to these sites and developer locations.
• Support testing for integrated hardware and software solutions across multiple locations.
• Assist in risk management processes and adjudicate program risk mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with facilities teams during site surveys, installation, and long-term maintenance of IT equipment and specialized hardware.
• Support request for change (RFC) processes.
• Review and analyze technical proposals.
