About the position

The position involves supporting the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment. The role focuses on the development and deployment of physical rack layouts, cabling design, and testing of physical components. The engineer will lead standardization efforts, organize project milestones, and serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in cross-functional activities, ensuring the proper support of network solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical components for hardware systems.
• Lead the standardization of rack SKUs and cabling solutions.
• Organize project technical milestones and supporting tasks.
• Serve as a technical SME in cross-functional activities.
• Drive systematic resolution of complex network design issues.
• Collaborate with vendor engineering and account managers to address operational issues.
• Participate in the development of RFQ/RFPs and lead the adoption of new vendor hardware.
• Communicate actively with product teams to assess gaps and solutions.

Requirements

• Experience in network hardware engineering, including cabling and device performance.
• Strong understanding of cabling and optical standards, cable plant design, and rack integration best practices.
• Ability to lead multiple engineers in developing complex network solutions.
• Experience in designing and evaluating electronic components and assemblies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with embedded software/firmware design.
• Familiarity with project management and coordination.
