About the position

AMD is seeking a Principal Hardware Emulation Verification Engineer (Graphics) to lead the development and implementation of best practices for creating functional, efficient, and space-optimized models. This role involves close collaboration with experts from graphics sub-system design, top-level graphics IP, PPA, software teams, and senior management. The ideal candidate will have extensive design verification experience for complex multi-billion gate designs, driving innovation in model building and debugging methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of best practices for hardware emulation verification.
• Develop testbenches from subsystem to top-level design.
• Create virtual platforms to facilitate design and software verification.
• Implement effective debug methodologies.
• Drive innovation in model building and debugging methodologies.
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure delivery of optimal RTL for HW emulation.
• Conduct power and performance analysis using hardware emulation for accurate early-cycle data.
• Collaborate with a high-profile team to advance hardware emulation methodologies for graphics IP.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree required; Master's degree in a related discipline preferred.
• Extensive design verification experience for complex multi-billion gate designs.
• Proficiency in power and performance analysis.
• Strong scripting capabilities, particularly in Python, TCL, and shell scripting.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior architects and teams across different geographies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with graphics IP design and software teams on design verification, PPA workloads, and software workloads.
• Experience in developing, building, and releasing large multi-billion gate hardware emulation models.
• In-depth knowledge of key hardware emulation vendor solutions for emulation and prototyping.
