About the position

As a Principal Hardware Engineer - Acoustic in the CTO Office of Cloud Operation & Innovation (CO+I), you will be part of a design team responsible for designing, developing, and testing new products and solutions that enhance the performance, efficiency, and reliability of data centers. This role focuses on engineering acoustics and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify customer needs, generate innovative ideas, and deliver high-quality solutions. You will also work with external vendors and suppliers to ensure compliance with standards and specifications, contributing to a large global portfolio of data centers and servers.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for data center critical environments focusing on low noise and high efficiency.
• Analyze, simulate, and model noise and vibration of systems in critical environments.
• Define product requirements internally and cross-functionally for noise control.
• Influence product roadmap and strategy around noise control.
• Act as a subject matter expert for noise control on data center system architecture.
• Embody the company's culture and values.

Requirements

• 10+ years of technical engineering experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years, or a Doctorate with 4+ years.
• 4+ years of experience with mission-critical systems such as data centers, healthcare, oil, military, or utilities.
• 4+ years of experience designing systems and/or developing products for industrial or mission-critical environments.
• Ability to meet customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice-to-haves
