About the position

Celestial AI is seeking a Principal Hardware/Systems Engineer to spearhead board and system design initiatives in collaboration with various vendors and partners. This role is pivotal as the industry faces challenges in meeting the demands of AI workloads, particularly due to bottlenecks in data transfers between processors and memory. The Photonic Fabric based Memory Fabric offers a groundbreaking solution to the 'Memory Wall' problem, enabling vast memory capacities with low latency and power consumption. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating technical and business requirements into practical solutions, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and the ability to navigate ambiguity. This hands-on position emphasizes design for manufacturing, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, targeting Celestial AI's end customers. The Principal Engineer will also drive technology deployment in data centers and ensure successful high-volume manufacturing, requiring strong project management and communication skills. The essential duties include building the board and associated systems to convert application and business requirements into feasible solutions. The engineer will be responsible for engineering Celestial AI compute systems for IP validation, data center integration, and deployment. Collaboration with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors is crucial to engineer scalable accelerator systems for volume deployment. The role also involves developing strong technical relationships within the company and with vendors, acting as a single point of contact for system-level design and manufacturing issues. The engineer will actively manage the qualification of data center hardware solutions while adhering to established cost and time constraints.
