As a Principal Hardware System Design Engineer at Ruckus Networks, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of high-speed hardware systems for Wi-Fi access points and related accessories. This position requires a deep understanding of RF subcircuits and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse engineering team that includes electrical, mechanical, and software engineers. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our products meet the rigorous standards of the wireless industry while also addressing the growing demand for high-bandwidth applications and services. In this role, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of hardware design, from initial concept through to product launch. This includes designing and bringing up Wi-Fi access point products, debugging and validating designs, and investigating new hardware solutions. You will also be tasked with reviewing and evaluating outsourced projects, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and standards. Collaboration with the RF and Antenna teams will be essential to integrate and validate designs effectively. Documentation is a key aspect of this role, as you will be required to generate various technical documents such as Proof of Concept (PoC), Product Requirement Documents (PRD), Hardware Requirement Documents (HRD), Hardware Functional Specifications (HWFS), Bill of Materials (BOM), test plans, and Failure Analysis (FA) reports. Additionally, you will support compliance testing and sustain legacy products, ensuring that they continue to meet customer needs and regulatory requirements.
