About the position

The Principal Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic leadership role at Pinterest, responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives to drive organizational success. This position partners with executive team members and their senior leadership teams to develop and implement people strategies that support Pinterest's goals. The HRBP oversees key initiatives, manages a team of HRBPs, and ensures effective communication of strategies and performance expectations across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand business goals and develop HR strategies that support those objectives.
  • Influence and contribute to the business strategy by providing insights on people trends and their impact on business performance.
  • Drive the integration and alignment of HR initiatives with business plans.
  • Provide strategic business partnership, thought partnership, and coaching to all levels of the organization.
  • Lead talent management activities such as succession planning and leadership development.
  • Identify and address talent gaps to ensure a pipeline of high-potential employees.
  • Manage and facilitate the Performance Cycle and employee engagement throughout the year.
  • Assess organizational needs and design and implement programs to drive change and improve effectiveness.
  • Champion initiatives that foster an inclusive culture.
  • Lead organizational design and restructuring efforts to meet strategic goals.
  • Address employee concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Implement effective performance management processes to drive results and development.
  • Ensure competitive and equitable compensation structures and provide feedback to the Benefits team.
  • Lead and manage change initiatives by demonstrating a hands-on approach to effective execution.
  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
  • Promote continuous learning and development within the HR team and the broader organization.
  • Set functional goals and inspire the function to commit to these actions and achieve the organization's goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role as an HR Business Partner or similar capacity.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic planning abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in talent management, organizational development, and change management.
  • High proficiency in using HR analytics and metrics to drive decision-making.
  • Strong people manager and organizational capability building skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $172,550—$355,000 USD.
  • Eligibility for equity compensation.
