Huitt-Zollars, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Principal-in-Charge/Vice President for our Dallas office. This full-time position requires a candidate with a minimum of 15 years of experience in civil engineering, specifically in public works infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and will play a pivotal role in leading key projects while also managing and mentoring staff. The Principal-in-Charge will be responsible for business development, ensuring the growth of the local Public Works group, and maintaining high standards of project delivery. This role involves interfacing with clients, developing proposals, negotiating scopes and fees, and ensuring timely billing and collections. The candidate will also be responsible for strategic planning of Public Works marketing and will oversee the preparation of design and construction drawings, ensuring quality control measures are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Principal-in-Charge will lead project teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources to meet scheduling and budget commitments. The role requires excellent communication skills to effectively convey engineering information and to maintain strong relationships with clients. The candidate will also be expected to troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions, and document processes for both internal and external stakeholders. This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with solid leadership and management skills, who is capable of working independently while managing multiple projects with limited supervision.
