About the position

The Principal Information Technology Analyst position at Ft Huachuca, AZ, is a critical role that involves performing analytical work in support of testing, evaluation, and certification of Information Technology (IT) and Networked Systems and Services (NSS) related to networks, systems, and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for incorporating Department of Defense (DoD) interoperability directives and instructions into all testing and evaluation (T&E) processes. This includes reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating IT system operations while interpreting customer information to ensure compliance with established standards. In this role, the analyst will solicit system requirements and assess the associated operational environment to develop an evaluation approach that aligns with T&E objectives. The position requires the sharing and briefing of T&E project milestones to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring that all parties are informed of progress and any issues that arise. The Principal Information Technology Analyst will conduct and may oversee the testing of processes and products, ensuring that all test procedures are designed and implemented effectively to determine if standards and criteria are met. Quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements are paramount in this role. The analyst will be responsible for documenting all initial findings and compiling final test results into a formal cybersecurity report. Additionally, the analyst will account for any anomalies and errors discovered during testing, notifying customers and management as necessary, and may assist in analyzing and correcting identified problems. This position requires a high level of expertise in the field, with the ability to lead and direct the work of others, providing consultation on complex projects and contributing as a top-level specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate DoD interoperability directives and instructions in all T&E processes.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate IT system operations and interpret customer information.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical curriculum; or a Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of experience (1 year of experience can be substituted by 15 semester hours completed toward a Master's degree).
  • At least 1 certification in area of specialization, such as Security+.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude expected.
  • Expertise in problem-solving, identifying risk, and communicating results and recommendations.
